STEAM Maker Festival was an amazing seven years. From 2013 to 2020 we held more than fifteen festivals and events across San Diego County. Each one bigger, louder, and more wonderfully chaotic than the last.
Students built robots, clocks, skateboards, recycled fashion, wild engineering projects and they thrived in a world powered by their own creations. Schools showed their programs. The community shared ideas and passion. It was real learning on full display.
The biggest compliment I ever got was when people would tell me it was too loud. That always made me smile. I put thousands of kids in a giant building and told them to show the world what they were really made of. Of course it got chaotic. That was the sound of creativity exploding.
